Capoeira Besouro is under the direction of Mestre Kinha from Rio de Janeiro Brazil. Mestre Kinha directly teaches and supervises all of the classes. Classes are offered six days a week in various locations; Kailua Movement Studio, Boca Hawaii- Honolulu, University of Hawaii- Manoa, Honolulu Club, Kailua Recreation Center, and prearranged private classes.
Two levels of adult classes are available; beginner and mixed/intermediate.
Two levels of children's classes are also available according to ages; 2-5 years old and 6-13 years old. Teens 14 and above are welcome in the adult classes. For more information on the children's classes, see the kids page.
Both children and adult classes include instruction in Capoeira, Maculele- a stick fighting dance, Samba de Roda, Afro- Brazilian dance, singing, playing capoeira instruments , and basic Portuguese. Through classes and school activities, students and families make new friends and foster great bonds in the world of capoeira. |
